Presently the most common nightjar in Ragihalli. 8 was the minimum estimate that Nitin sir & I arrived at without any possible re-counting, probably even more. After hearing our first Savanna nightjar not too long after crossing the forest gate, we just kept hearing more & more while stopping to count everytime we heard a new individual consistently till the end. Even heard at least 2 groups of 2-3 calling to each other at the same time and managed to see 4 individuals - including one calling while sitting on a wire and another calling from right next to the road while sitting on a small stone right out in the open!
