The linked video above converted to audio. 2 distinct calls. Note probably a treecreeper is also calling quite close
觀察細節
Same area as sighted on 3/10/16. Not sure if it is the same individual and realise it is probably quite unusual for a passage migrant through peri-urban Canberra to have chosen to stay here for 2 weeks. Initial impression was Satin rather than Leaden based on how dark it was. The breastband curve was not all that clear unlike last time, appearing to vary between different angles of observation and generally appearing to be pretty neutral, although more downcurved when calling. Despite me being able to observe it for a much longer duration of 25 minutes, it seemed insistent on facing away from me, was a fair way up for much of the time, and whenever it moved I had to follow it through dense prickly undergrowth, so great views of the breastband was not obtained. One thing mentioned in Graeme Chapman's comprehensive description on differentiating males of the species on his photo gallery is the feather shafts under the tail- grey undertail with clear white feather shafts in Leadens and dark brown undertail in which the feather shafts are not noticeable in Satins, with good images of both species allowing me to visually see what he was describing. The undertail was something I was given plenty of good views of, and definitely matches that of a Satin. Very vocal, with 2 distinct calls. Recording attached. I have uploaded all of my images from today, mostly grouped to show features. In the image comments, I have specified the features I have used or some of the features that have puzzled me. Confirmation or otherwise of ID would be appreciated.
