Two very handsome female-plumaged birds feeding actively together close to the west side of the south pond (viewed from sidewalk along Prospect Ave). At first, a Greater Yellowlegs was feeding near them. Later a very large snapping turtle(?) was swimming along close by, and they paused and became alert before determining he was not a threat. FOY
