Even dark brown upperparts, densely spotted not streaked breast. Seen on the ground outside the fire station in the township as I drove out and flew up into the trees where I got this crappy photo before it flew off, after about a minute. Not the first boobook I've seen shortly after dark in Paluma, I suspect they're not uncommon
