觀察細節
Secretarybirds (Sagittarius serpentarius) are strange raptors that are endemic to sub-Sharan Africa. Secretarybirds are mostly ground-dwelling, with eagle-like heads and a body on long legs. This Secretarybird was hunting in grass on a very hot day north of the Letaba River Bridge on the Letaba-Mopani Road in Kruger National Park. It strode through the grass, examining the ground for prey, catching beetles and grasshoppers. At on point it subdued its prey by rapidly stomping on it with a foot before swallowing it. After some time, the panting Secretarybird moved into the shade of a small Mopane (Colophospermum mopane).
