Entered based on the reference statement present in--Whistler, Hugh; Kinnear, N. B. 1936. The Vernay Scientific Survey of the Eastern Ghats. (Ornithological section). Part XIV. Journal of the Bombay Natural History Society. "A female, now in the British Museum, collected at Yercaud, Shevaroys, on 11 February 1869 by Theobald and the above specimen (incubation patch marked on label) are the only specimens examined from the eastern side of the Presidency, but it is said by La Personne to be common in the Shevaroys and Chitteri range." Here, the above specimen means the specimen collected during the Vernay Survey. That record has been entered separately from TN Vernay Survey eBird account.
