A pair of trumpeters was reported at this location by Andrew Reimer on April 23, and subsequent visits by both of us turned up a lone trumpeter, suggesting the other was possibly on a nest. Today I was able to see an adult on a nest. Once I saw her, I did not approach closer, so the other may have been present somewhere. Pics attached. I believe this is the first nesting of this species in Calumet County.
