觀察細節
This evening we were able to get close to a group of Highland Guan and record vocalizations. There were several individuals together, maybe 3 or 4. We got a good look at two of them. The sound seemed to have been made by each individual as it moved from one tree to another, not from the perched birds. The pitch is higher than one would guess coming from such a large bird. The staccato, rapid repetition is not a vocalization we often hear these birds make. Of the two birds we saw, both were adult males. John Cahill, who listened to these recordings later, describes them as alarm calls.
