NOTES: (Breeding Status: Territorial paired. Frequency of Sound: Agitated. Gen. Climate: Dry. Cover Density: Medium.) Bird very agitated ata imitation of Pygmy Owl. Same bird as redcorded on 601-3. Display of agitation included turning from side to side, flitting from twig to twig, flicking tail, etc. Bird was joined by presumed mate, which did not call. Both flew off, together. [Two examples of the "Chick-a-dee" Call of BNA, both including A, B, and C-notes, but the latter seemingly cut-off at the end. Quality changed from 3 to 2-3 (maybe 2 for the single call that is complete) - CAM - 1 April 2005]. Sound stimulation was (other): playback Pygmy Owl. Other Behaviors: Depart, Emit Alarm. Habitat: Forest, Coniferous Forest, Deciduous Forest, Canyon.
