A Little Tern on seagrass wrack – stretching its wings, then taking off. Little Terns (Sternula albifrons) are a rare vagrant to the coast south Shark Bay in the mid-west of Western Australia. This unusual sighting of a Little Tern in breeding condition was made in the Port Kennedy Scientific Park, south of Perth in south-western Australia. It was sitting on seagrass wrack (mainly Posidonia species), stretching its wings before taking off as a wave rushed in. Elevation: 0 m. Date added to IBC: March 18, 2019.
