A female Brush Bronzewing walking then flying off. Brush Bronzewings (Phaps elegans) are beautiful but shy birds that are usually difficult to find or see well because they mostly live in dense shrublands. Males have a chestnut forehead and females like this one lack the forehead patch. This female Brush Bronzewing emerged briefly from a thicket of shrubs in the Cheynes Beach Caravan Park on the south coast of Western Australia being flying off. Elevation: 0 m. Date added to IBC: July 19, 2018.
