Pied Cormorant standing on one leg after fishing. The Pied Cormorant (Phalacrocorax varius) is a large pied cormorant that is found all around the Australian coast, and also occurs in large inland wetlands in eastern Australia. In Western Australia it is mostly found in marine and estuarine habitats. This lone bird was standing on one leg amongst seagrass wrack on the beach after fishing. There are two non-breeding Crested Terns at the bottom of the frame near the cormorant. Elevation: 0 m. Date added to IBC: April 15, 2018.
