觀察細節
Continuing bird first spotted by Paul L. on December 3 (SDRB posting re: Mystery Warbler per email corr). A very vocal warbler, frequently calling a resonant chip note with an uneven beat (recording below). A plump-bellied warbler with a medium length tail: Pale yellowish head and crown with smudgy gray markings, pale eyering (broad but with fuzzy margins and irregularly shaped), a pale yellow throat, grayish collar paler than and contrasting with the back and head, maybe some very faint blackish streaking under the throat but pretty weak, 1-1/2 wingbars, dark gray bracings on an olive-y back, didn't note any rump color if there was any, the breast and belly were whitish with very white undertail coverts, lots of white flashing in the tail and not sure which feathers were white but when closed the upper tail showed only gray. First spotted at medium canopy on the edge of the canyon but then spent most of its time, maybe 10 minutes before I lost track of it, foraging down in low shrub in the bottom of the canyon; I think I saw it bob its tail down once. At 11:15am in Palm Canyon: 32.729587,-117.152008.
