觀察細節
The amazingly cooperative Hudsonian Godwit was easy to find in cell A-2 and it stayed at close range the whole time we were there. This bird was first found around 3:00p by Jeff Seay who joined us when we got there. Both Rob and I got good photos of the bird from all angles. Rob even got an in flight movie of it. The bird appeared most like an alternate plumaged female. We could see all field marks for this species and gender including the scattered rusty barred underparts, white wing stripe, white upper-tail coverts, black tail, streaked necked, and black blotched back. It was smaller, by direct comparison, than a Marbled Godwit. It flew a couple of times and we were able to see the white upper-tail coverts, black tail and very dark (black) under wings, all typical of this species.
