觀察細節
Strange bluebird. Seen on South East side of property towards East Railroad Road. Seen originally at pretty close range until it flew high up into a Eucalyptus tree. The bird was seen directly across from the Cypress trees in the top of the Eucalyptus tree with a snag at the top. Coordinates at 38°18'56.8"N 122°40'53.1"W. What caught my eye about this bird was the fact that this bird was relatively long winged. The next thing I noticed was the fact this bird was sky blue and had a whitish vent. The bird itself had NO rust color on the breast at all and had a grayish breast color. The eye on this bird also had a slight eye ring which a Western would not. I did get some photos of this bird and I will upload them. I would like some opinions on this bird as I do not want to call on Mountain Bluebird without more confirmation. The bird itself was also pretty gray overall and the wings themselves extended past the tail. The wing tips themselves also had black wing tips. The photos of this bird are very blurry as the fog and mister in the air was pretty significant. The bird itself was seen better in person than in the photos. I sent the photo of this bird to a friend, and after he sent it to a few experts from the MOBL wintering range, they said it appears to be a "perfect" Mountain Bluebird. That being said, I think I will upload a few more photos and try to see this bird again before calling it a Mountain. That being said I think it might be worth others attempting to see this bird as it really was an interesting bird and worth a look from other experts. The bird itself, appeared to be a winter plumage male Mountain, however, I would still like other opinions.
