觀察細節
Common Ringed Plover in nonbreeding plumage with a blackish bill, noticeably longer than the bills on the nearby Semipalmated Plovers. It had a black orbital eye ring (contrasting with the yellowish one of SEPL), a breast band that was 1.5 to 2 times as thick as on the neighboring SEPL's, a bold white supercilium, and lacked any palmated webbing between the toes. Overall it was larger and taller with distinctly longer wings (quite noticeable when next to a SEPL). The legs are also a very bright orange. Finally, the face mask is noticeably more defined, being thicker and bolder in black coloration and extending across most of the head; the mask also characteristically extends down to the gape. I also heard the bird vocalize when it flushed [the first time] with a fellow Semipalmated Plover; its call was an upturned "toowee" that was less sharp/harsh than the SEPL that was vocalizing at the same time. Many pics taken, some posted below.
