(6-8) clear whipping whestling song in background, Regent Whistler. (45) tiny parrot chirps - Plum-faced lorikeet, I think. (68-70's) clear high whistly, repeated rapidly ?probably a whistler, rufous-naped. (103 - 140's) rolling rollicking song in foreground by 2 birds; medium-range frequency, squeaky sounding = duet of Blue-capped Ifrita. (108) tiny parrot screeches = lorikeet, plum-faced I think. (130's) "kweek? ka kweek?" plaintive sounding nasal noise = Belford's Melidectes in background. (154-157) coo series - "woo-woo-woo-woo woo woo" same frequency, accelerating tempo = Ornate Fruit Dove. Single "woo" notes = White-breasted fruit dove. (170's) duet of Ifritas - squeaky, loud, rollicking duet. (181) 2 up-sweeps and tremolo downsweep in background = Mountain Mouse-warbler. (198) "plaintive-sounding" series of harmonic upsweeps - medium range - not very melodious = Belford's Melidectes. (202-206) Melidectes continues - squeaky sounding, almost. (210) coo series - same frequency, accelerating = Ornate Fruit Dove. (230's -245) "whe-oo whee-o" clear tone, repetitive, whistly song, high pitch; "too-weet too-weet too-weet" = Rufous-naped Whistler. (240's) rollicking duet of Blue capped Ifritas. (245 - 260's) "to-weet to-weet cheery cheery cheery" repeated many times = Whistler - Rufous-naped Whistler I think. (268-270) rustling shaking noise = Ribbon-tailed Astrapia in flight. (297-299) rustling shaking noise, like stiff taffeta k-k-k-k-k. The 2 long white ribbon tail plumes (3ft long) streaming behind during flight. It lands in fruiting trees overhead. = Ribbon-tailed Astrapia. (305) "to-weet to-weet to-weet clear whistled upsweeps, many repetitions = Rufous-naped Whistler. There are Ifritas almost continuously in background - pair contact sounds. 318) k-k-k-k-k-k rustling noise = flight of Ribbon-tail Astrapia. (331) "kweek? ah" "questioning" sound, "plaintive", *very* loud notes = Belford's Melidectes. (340's) smaller noises, tonal, mid-frequency = Blue-capped Ifrita pair foraging together - continuous noise [throughout the recording]. (350-353) "tseep" chirps, high pitched = Papuan Lorikeet I think. (380's) single "woo" "woo" in background at intervals = White-breasted Fruit Dove. (384 - 386, and into 390's) small noises escalate in to the "rollicking" duet "wah? ka-choo wah? ka-choo wah? ka-choo" = Blue-capped Ifrita. (393) 2 clear notes, then trill; close, overloads = Mountain Mouse Warbler. (400's) duet of Ifritas continues "wah? ka-choo wah? ka-choo". (404-6) several loud, "plaintive" notes - upsweeps and downsweeps = Belford's Melidectes. (410) little whistled song **close** = Mountain mouse warbler. (417) loud, "questioning" upsweeps, plaintive = Belford's Melidectes. (430's) Ifrita duet continuing. (440) k-k-k-k-k shaking of taffeta sound = flight of Ribbon-tailed Astrapia feeding on fruit above. (448) contact sounds "wah ka-choo" repeated = Blue-capped Ifrita pair. (478) woo series - not descending = Ornate Fruit Dove. (496) woo series - descending at end = White breasted fruit dove. (500) k-k-k-k-k taffeta shaking = Ribbon-tailed Astrapia flying.
