From 'Bull's Birds of New York State' © 1998. Occurrence: Weissman and Howe (1976) described their close observation of an adult driven 25 miles up the Hudson R. to the southern tip of Croton Point, Westchester Co. by Hurricane Belle on 10 Aug 1976. The bird passed within 30 ft of the astonished observers. (KB 26:200 | see attached screenshot).
