The bird was first reported by Ken Brown around 08:45, confirmed by Brad Waggoner when he arrived at the spit. A juvenile bird, with overall golden cast to its plumage. Photos show a distinct "ear-spot" and spotted nape. Only three primaries are projecting beyond the tertials, and the face is washed with golden color. See accompanying photos. This is a first Kitsap County record.
