An adult individual bird perched conspicuously close, steadfast on its chosen perch, and sang at length with unwavering intensity. The bird remained entirely at ease as a small gathering of observers formed below, eyes lifted and microphones quietly trained upon it. Song flowed uninterrupted, as if the singer were both unaware of—or perfectly comfortable with—its attentive audience.
