Found by Benji and DeAnna Dillard. Lifer! Distinctive bird, even in the glare. “seaduck” that was actively diving off of the pier. When we observed it, it was foraging on its own to the west of the pier. Even backlit, the white secondaries were apparent, as was the white comma behind the eye. Bill also appeared bulky with an orangish tip. I’ll attach a photo…not much experience with the scoters, but fairly sure it’s the bird.
