Continuing female. I did not see the bird during my first visit today, but suspect it was on the rocks north of the peninsula. When I walked back from the point on my second try, she was swimming close to the trail. Small dark duck with a large white spot at the base of the bill, smaller white spot above the lores, and a round white spot on the neck.
