Found yesterday by Ron Lambeth. On pond with the footbridge at the south end. Was hanging out and diving with a lady Bufflehead most of the time I observed her. I say 'her' because she appeared to be a female. Small white and brown sea duck. Large white area around the eye and down to the bill. Brown crown that extended down the nape. The brown also extended down to the bill in a narrow strip between the eyes, making the white look circular around the eye. Smudgy brown cheek patch. White ring around the neck. Dark eyes and a small bill. Back, wings and chest are brown. Looked to have different shades of brown on the back and wings. White below. Like to dive a lot. Unusual place to find a sea duck.
