Field marks shown distinguishing this SEPL from the CRPL, include: yellowish eyering; pinched-in, narrow lores; pale legs; "cute", round-headed structure.

As precise a count as I could obtain. They are in a variety of plumages, a couple showing darker faces and/or orangish legs approaching that of the Common Ringed Plover, but close study revealed some combination of yellowish eye ring, white behind the bill, and/or more white on the face. In addition, the structure of the SEPLs tend to be more round-headed and petite than the CRPL. Quite a few of the SEPLs showed yellowish legs and photos revealed more extensive webbing between their toes. Photos included of a sample set of the SEPLs present.
