Silently flycatching from highest small leafless branches just above Fireman's Flat picnic area. Classic contopus behavior--sallying forth to snatch insects and returning to same/nearby perch. Hard to judge size with no other birds around for comparison. Blocky head with slight peak. Overall gray, with paler underparts, faint wing bars. Largish bill, pale lower mandible.
