Two birds standing relatively close to each other on the furthest (western) shore, about 880 m away (Google Earth). Walking slowly and independently, stopping occasionally. Six Royal Spoonbills foraging in the shallows, just offshore. About the same size although the bitterns were bulkier and standing upright. Birds seen clearly through 20-30x spotting scope, and even through binoculars (though small figures). Could just make out the dark neck stripe. Rest of plumage brown.
