Recorded using Merlin. Identified by Merlin as Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.

观察细节

Merlin consistently identified the vocalizations as Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, but I believe this is an immature female Red-naped Sapsucker. Poor recording is attached. Red throat with white chin and red in nape indicate female Red-naped. I think the lack of black in the breast below the red throat, considerable flecking in the black auricular and moustache parts of the face, and loosely textured breast feathers that obscure the long white patch of the wing indicate immature. (I took 200 photos of the bird and none of them showed a prominent white wing patch.) The back is quite messy but overall pattern seems to be spotting in two columns down the back, consistent with Red-naped. Other than the Merlin voice ID, I don't see anything that jumps out as Yellow-bellied or hybrid.
