life bird. It's always fantastic to get on an owl; but this was special because we had tried so hard for many days, only hearing them. (Not me, of course, I had nada up to now.) This one finally cooperated. We watched it fly to a perch, then a couple of short hops (away from harassing Starlings) to re-perch - fine views at one perch. medium-small owl facing us, long bold stripes on the underside (front).
