Long staying bird. I first saw it high in the sky to the SE, at the same time that lots of gulls were also in the sky. It eventually came over the pond for better looks. The bird had very ragged looking flight feathers. Head, body and leading part of underwings pure white. Trailing edge and upper surfaces were black. The tail was black and strongly forked. Elegant flyer.
