Fall adult. Very black, relatively small bill. Eye with a wide, white, partial eye ring. Dark gray back with dark legs. White between the eyes diffusing to black going up to the crown and nape. White plain chest and belly. Very upright posture as it walks along the beach, different than the many Ring-billed gulls around it.
