Two conspicuously distinctive juveniles showed the expected characters of this race. I think these are the first juveniles I've been convinced by. Compared to juvenile schinzii, these two juveniles were obviously smaller, had proportionately shorter, straighter bills, and appeared paler/colder overall. Centres to mantle and scaps centres black contrasting with white fringes. Centres of coverts & tertials frosted grey-brown with creamy-white fringes. Head paler grey-brown with darker streaking. Breast streaking finer/narrower than juvenile schinzii and relatively faint. One bird showed faint darker spotting on flanks, on second the spotting was more conspicuous but fainter, more diffuse than on schinzii, this bird also showing several replaced grey scapulars.
