while I was walking on the trail at the top of the hill, a flock of mixed males and female type/juveniles flew into the trees and areas where the grass was tall, dispersing at times. One female remained guarding the unmown 3 acre area, coming fairly close to the edge by the trail and making warning sounds periodically. No observations of other Bobolinks involved in this guarding, no observations of female carrying food.
