Larger than nearby stints and Red-capped Plovers. White on forehead, extending as a broad white band on face to behind eye; narrow, black band on fore crown and greyish head to rest of upperside; underparts, white with narrow, grey collar on upper breast and broad band of diffuse, buff smudges on lower breast; pale, pinkish legs.
