Male, Dr. Who, perched in beech tree above a recent fledge. Was 5 feet above fledge who was at 20 feet high. Next box nearby (approx 60 feet)
观察细节
Spotted fledge that left next box the evening before. Was approx 60 feet NE or nest. Perched on a beech tree branch approx 20 feet up. Above another 5 feet higher was a parent, think it the male given the red facial disk and other identifiers. The parent was also perched in the same beech tree. Beech trees seem to be the males preferred perching. I would think that the female was nearby with the other chick that fledged May 16, but that is just a hunch.
