观察细节

small to medium sized shorebird - slightly larger than nearby least sandpiper and lighter colored on head. faint "eyebrow". longish, slightly decurved bill. streaky lines on chest. for a few very brief moments as it dipped it's head to feed you could see a white spot on its rump as it's wings were crossed. feathers on rear of wing noticeably darker and very contrasted compareded to the rest of the bird. solid black legs. continually proplbing a small muddy area always sticking close with a nearby least. very docile and cooperative - seemed mostly unbothered. occasionally would be flushed but then almost immediately return.
