rv, continuing off NE corner of dn. Mixed in with large waterfowl raft in one of the only pockets of open water. When I drove up, the bird was right along the riprap but quickly began swimming away while the others stayed put or casually moved backwards; the quick escape caught my eye which is what drew me to the bird. Closer to Fort Armistead than yesterday and possible to scope it from there. A later scan in the afternoon revealed the bird farther north, along the wooden pilings southwest of Fort Armistead.
