photoed, recorded. 2 individuals, approximately 18-19 cm in size, with long, curved bills and quite white breast. Their behavior was similar to a Pomatorhinus scimitar-babbler. The two individuals were observed moving together in a stream valley at an elevation of about 1300 meters, actively foraging through dense bamboo and shrubbery. Sometimes flew across small paths. I heard two distinct calls/songs, both of which were very similar to the typical call of the Short-tailed Scimitar-Babbler (Napothera danjoui). They showed a strong and immediate response to the Short-tailed Scimitar-Babbler's song.
