Continuing rarity. Thank you Frank Fabbro for spotting/sharing, to all the birders who collected necessary field marks for confirmation, Josh Watson for refinding at this location, and Avery Blumenthal for helping me locate the bird onsite. First seen swimming around far bend in creek. Eventually climbed up on snowy shore and tucked head in to rest. Briefly got up to walk around and then rested again on shore until I left. Slightly darker than nearby female Mallards, relatively bright yellow bill, and black gape seen clearly. Tough to spot while resting but possible to notice darker color.
