Bird of the day spotted by Daniel. Very uncommon to rare bird that is unobtrusive and hard to find. Following a mixed flock. Lifer. Big saltator, best saltator I've ever seen for sure, boldly patterned gray above, white below with black breast band, black face, bright red bill, staring yellow/gold iris, and heavily white tipped black tail with graduated retrices. We got great looks at the overlook, and then found it again in the same mixed flock closer to the SCAN feeding station. Silent. There is a lot of chusquea in the area, this bird likes that bamboo so maybe that's why it's around.
