Thanks to Rich and Nancy Trissel & the Manchester CBCers for the location tip — we came back up to PA today and found the bird (a lifer for me). It was in with a small mixed flock of white and golden-crowned sparrows. Non-breeding plumage (or maybe juvenile). Will have nice images uploaded later - but what stood out was the light chin and breast with some black spotting. Pale bill. Lovely little bird!
