Initially seen in flight, landed in tilled paddock where we watched them as they fed and rested. Distinctive, agile shorebirds with elongated wings. Dark underwing coverts, cream neck and underparts contrasting with darker brown upperwing feathers. Bright red/pink bill visible through scope at a distance and in heavy haze.
