**Very rare in state. Perhaps a continuing bird seen at beginning of month down at Robert Moses; pattern very similar, and seemingly same age class (see https://ebird.org/atlasny/checklist/S165716485). Subadult fairly close off fishing platform with a handful of Atlantic birds. Markedly darker belly in size than nearby birds, with dark blackish brown belly extending down past legs. Flanks striped with black, giving an overall darker and barred look. White neck collar extensive and uniformly shaped, solid in the front and nearly meeting in the back, not as thick as many Black individuals, but a very different shape than the Atlantic. Photos, though a bit distant.
