c. 100 individuals reported by Glen Holland 14/04/2024. We attempted to corroborate that sighting. Notes: Gregarious, slender green parrot with red undertail and yellow fringed red facial patch. Noisy, highly active groups flying low and fast between trees, never appearing to settle for very long. Mostly in groups of 3-7, sometimes 10 or 13, most seen at once was 22. Others pairs, few singles. Nearing dusk, groups began flocking and heading in the same direction, enabling accurate counting. Four or five flocks totalling 43 individuals flew over in the space of seven minutes at 37°08'15.9"S 142°36'15.3"E at 17:18. Flight call like Brown Treecreeper, other principal call a quite distinct, undulating warble. Quite possibly 90 individuals or more, but smaller flocks were going back and forth a lot initially, making them hard to count. 65 is a confident minimum and the total tallied from progressive spot counts of groups of individuals, with care taken not to double count.
