Structure: The Kamchatka gull is slightly taller and larger than the adjacent Ring-billed Gulls, exhibiting a more elongated appearance due to its longer wings. Bare parts: Compared to nearby RBGUs, the bill is longer and greenish-yellow, with a smudgy area near the more yellow tip. The eyes are pale yellow, and the legs have a dull greenish coloration. Plumage: The mantle appeared noticeably darker and more blue-gray than that of adjacent RBGUs, even under harsh lighting or at a distance. Large white mirrors visible near the tip of the folded wing, accompanied by a relatively broad white strip along the trailing edge of the secondaries. The head displays moderate patterning throughout (gray-brown smudges on the head, face, and nape). Long continuing. First observed from nearby Cummings Park looking into the sun.
