Continuing basic adult male; apparently continuing since mid-November last year. First heard it’s soft “chew” call at 3:54 PM, a bit like that of a YEWA but significantly quieter and slightly more liquidy. Moments later I found it visually. A smallish warbler with pale, sidewalk-grey underparts, bright lime-green cap and mantle, bold white eyering (though low contrast with pale gray face), darker blackish primaries, two yellow-green wingbars (tips of wing coverts) and of course a prominent chestnut streak on each side. Viewed until 4:10 as it foraged. Between the smaller size compared to YRWAs, hyperactive foraging, and proportionately longer tail which it fanned often, I found it fairly easy to pick out among the numerous other passerines in the area. Please be aware that this is a semi-private community and perhaps not the best place to chase (I’m sure there are more lurking in a random park somewhere anyways) - besides, your year list isn’t THAT important right? ;)
