Oh yeah. Very rare* Life bird! Living breathing AMFL, not made of plastic. Hot flamingo fall continues. Spotted this morning on pelican by the Kittingers. Flushed and flew to the spit in late morning where they were scoped and seen by many as they hung around the small beach spit across the lagoon from the golf course parking lot. Watched first from the parking lot, then I walked around the lagoon for closer views and moved closer in for photos when other birds arrived. Very comfortable with people! Unmistakable birds! Felt like I was in a zoo. Size of nearby GBHE. Such graceful birds, all movements slow. Spent their time close together preening, with heads tucked, or walking around a bit. Two got into a brief squabble. Pushed further down the shoreline once by a GBHE. I’m almost certain these are the same three that have been in Hale County. Absent as of the 25th. Each one of today’s three seem to match one of the Hale Ct birds. One seen at both sites is overall a deeper scarlet color. Another is a paler pink, with scarlet only on the face and primaries. The last bird is also paler pink with grayish patterning going up the the neck giving the feathers a ruffled appearance and feather ware on the back. Photos TBA
