观察细节
Large group of dowitchers landed on the far southwest finger of the point. Appeared to be mostly bright fresh juvenile like dowitchers with distinct buffy orange edged/patterned coverts and tertials, spotting to sides of buffy breasts/flanks, mottled pale bellies, white vents, dark buffy chestnut toned crowns highlighted bold superciliums which appeared more arched/angled than the straighter look of Long-billed. One somewhat duller adult like bird in the mix. Rapid TU-TU-TU calls heard in flight. Overall look of these birds was for fresh bright plumage, unlike pre-migration dull molted Long-billed type. No plain/dull looking tertials on any of these birds like Long-billed. Some individuals revealed wide white to black bars on upper tail and dense barring to underwing in flight. Long primary projection noted, with wingtips even with end of tail. Not falling short of tail tip like Long-billed. Audio recording obtained. Photo'd.
