观察细节
Fortunately this bird sang for quite some time allowing me to really study it and also get a recording though not great quality. Though it was fairly close and I gazed at the tree area it was in for nearly 20 minutes, I could never get a visual! Its song featured a series of slightly burry upwards and downwards whistled notes, with significant pauses between each. The burry nature of some of the phrases ruled out the vireo-like pure-toned song of Purple Finch, the long pauses, slightly higher pitch, and burriness rule out Grosbeaks and Robins, which are also faster paced. I ruled out Western Tanager's slower series due to consistent up and down phrases, slightly longer gaps, and there were no "pit-er-ick" harsh bursts.
