This was the best photo I took showing both eyes for comparison. It also shows the v-shape at the base of the bill where it meets the forehead.
观察细节
Large all white Swan in Otter Creek, with an all black bill, eyes, lores and legs. Lores are about as wide as the eye with no yellow coloration at all. There is a v-shape where the base of the bill meets the forehead. The side of the bill shows a sort of straight line from the eye to the bottom base of the bill. I soon wondered if this Swan was the same bird as the Swan that I saw in Brandon on 3/9/17. I took photos at both sightings and compared them to each other. There is a distinct difference in the size of the black area surrounding the eyes. The left eye shows a noticeably smaller black area than the right eye. I noticed this distinction in the photos from both sightings, thus concluding that this bird is the same Swan as the one that I saw in Brandon. The likelihood that there are 2 Trumpeter Swans in Vermont with the above mentioned distinction would be highly improbable.
