Adult male swimming with Common Goldeneyes. It stands out by its different head pattern and shape and scapular pattern. White crescent shape on side of face, not round; vertical forehead at right angles to small black bill; head extends back like a mane. Black scapulars have white in centre and a black spur down front of flanks.
